JCSA donates $400,000 to four Health Facilities

Picture

Four Charities were beneficiaries of cheques donated by the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA). The proceeds were from the JCSA’s Centenary Charity Grand Prix 5K Run/Walk.
The Handing over ceremony was held at JACISERA Park in Kingston. President of the JCSA, O’Neil Grant, expressed appreciation to sports committee chairperson, Mrs. Melaini Mullings-Arnold and her team, who spent sleepless nights organizing the various events. He also thanked the sponsors who partnered with the Association to make the donations possible.
The funds from the charity Grand prix Run/ Walk will be used to purchase an otoscope and a defibrillator machine for the White House Health Centre; to retrofit the North and South Wing of the KPH's Out-Patient Department with new chairs, ceiling fans and cabinets; to purchase supplies for the St. Ann’s Bay Health Department; and to expand the Parental Health Clinic at the Mandeville Health Centre.
Representatives from the four health facilities expressed their gratitude to the association for using their anniversary to give back.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer at KPH, Diane McIsaacs noted that the donation will greatly benefit the organization.
“for us at the KPH, being the largest hospital in Jamaica and the Caribbean, this gift will go a long way in improving patient care”.
The representatives gave the assurance that the funds will be used to improve service delivery at the selected facilities.
