Members of the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA) were encouraged to take advantage of the benefits offered by the organization. This message was sent during the 2020 JCSA Parish Chapter Annual General Meetings. The Meetings were held from January 8th-January 31st across Jamaica’s 14 parishes.
Partners of the JCSA such as the National Housing Trust (NHT), First Heritage Cooperative Credit Union (FHC), Jamaica Cooperatives Insurance Agency (JCIA) and Alliance Payment Services (E-pay) were present at the series of meetings. Members were informed about the various promotions and packages that are available.
JCSA President, Bro. O’Neil Grant emphasized the mission of the Association to aid in the improvement of the social and economic conditions of its members.
“The JCSA is looking after your work life and looking after the other aspects of your life. Our sole focus for the next five years should be to move from surviving to thriving. We want persons to want to become government workers because of the treatment and compensation we receive,” he said.
President Grant further explained some of the other plans that the Association hopes to achieve such as continuing conversations with the Ministry of Finance to discuss time off for Government Workers and Paternity Leave for Men in the Public Sector.
Meanwhile, new executive members were selected for the various Parish Chapters. The newly elected executives were all encouraged to continue to support the mission of the JCSA. The meetings came to an end on January 31 in Trelawny at the Chapter’s AGM which was held at the Parish’s RADA Office.
